U.S.-Iran Peace Talks in Switzerland Postponed

Vice President Vance was scheduled to attend a ceremonial signing of the MOU.

A ceremonial signing of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the U.S. and Iran that was scheduled to take place in Switzerland today has been postponed, according to the Swiss Foreign Ministry.

The foreign ministry stated, “The planned talks between the US, Iran, Qatar, and Pakistan have been postponed. Switzerland remains ready to facilitate these talks. The relevant preparatory work at Bürgenstock is continuing.”

The White House confirmed that Vice President JD Vance would not be traveling to Switzerland for the first round of negotiations on Friday. A spokesperson stated, “The logistics of these negotiations have never been simple or predictable. As of now the Vice President is not departing [late Thursday]. We will let you know as soon as we have a concrete update about next steps. We look forward to beginning technical talks as soon as possible.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for President Trump, Vice President Vance, and all U.S. officials involved in preparations and discussions surrounding the MOU.
  • For God’s will and purposes to be accomplished through the president and members of his administration.
